The first day sit on for ½ hour. The next day go for an hour. A good rule of thumb is to add an hour each day. Soon, in about a week your, body will be well accustomed to its new seating arrangement and be able to sit in the chair for a whole day. Then it will be time to trash (or donate to your favorite charity!) the old, traditional desk chair.

If the particular chair you have didn’t come with an air pump, getting one would be a good idea.

You will want to sit with both feet flat on the floor and knees bent at little more than 90 degrees. Your thighs should slope down slightly.

At first you will feel the urge to bounce a little bit—go ahead and indulge yourself. Just don’t get to crazy. Some people do feel that having the ability to bounce very slightly has a therapeutic benefit.

Try as much as you can not to rely too much on the back rest for support. The more you lean back against the back rest, the less benefits you will realize. But just know that the back rest is always there for when you need it.

To be in proper balance your body will naturally understand that it needs to sit up straight with good posture. You will find that your weight will not be in proper alignment if you slouch and sitting on the chair will be more difficult. Just sit up straight and you will be fine.
